    Olympic Airways @ JFK Question

    Hey Guys:

Many of you are all spotters at JFK, and I am sure know many airline schedules that arrive and depart JFK. My question to you guys is if any of you know the schedules for Olympic Airlines arrivals and departures, and how many times a week they serve ( i.e Monday and Tuesdays only and so on). I already know the equipment - and I would also like any other information you can offer!

Even though this is slightly off topic, anyone ever visit Greece before ( especially the Athens area) anything good you visited wile you were there ?

Olympic has changed the sked for 411/412-415/416 again and has not updated their site. I will post the new sked for you on Tues when I return to work.

Re: Olympic Airways @ JFK Question

Olympic has kept the flight numbers for their flights to JFK from Athens the same for decades. As long as memory serves, it has been OA 411 and OA 412 as well as OA 415 and 416 on weekends. However, they replaced their magnificent 747s with Airbuses. I fondly recall Olympic Eagle and Zeus.

That's cool to see aircraft of Olympic airlines named after the Greek gods.

Ooops, I forgot the third Olympic 747 "Spirit". They no longer fly. I believe the Olympic Airbuses are named after cities in Greece which is less romantic than ancient Greek gods.

They named their A343's after other things, events maybe ? heres the list

    SX-DFA ( Delivered December 12,1999) "Olympia"

    SX-DFB ( Delivered December 12,1999) "Delphi"

SX-DFC ( Delivered December 12,1999) "Marathon"- Favorite OA plane.

    SX-DFD ( Delivered December 12,1999) "Epidaurus"

All of them are the Airbus A340-313X models.

I do wish OA would repaint their A340's
