Lol, people have been shooting off fireworks for about 2 weeks now.... some people think July 4th is like a month or something out here. It usually goes on 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after.

Its the same on Long Island...and I dont know about Michigan, but fireworks are illegal in NY. Unless your name is Grucci.

Yes, fireworks are illegal out here without a permit. But no one really cares. Even the police in my town shoot off fireworks without a permit :D

It's mind-numbing here in New Jersey. Illegal to buy, okay to shoot off. Luckily I live close to Pennsylvania... :D

I've found a few charred-up fireworks that have landed in my yard. Something is going to catch fire sooner or later.

I posted a firework pic earlier, heres another from a completely legal display. Good luck with your outing!

    Shoot first, ask questions later.

    That's a beautiful shot! ^^^^

Here are 2 videos I took from our bedroom window tonight. Though we hadn't thought about it until this afternoon, it turns out we had one heck of a view right from home! Phil took some photos...we'll post them later:

(Pardon my talking and the beeping of the timer on the camera in the video!) :P

Great videos, Mel! I just realized that in the first video after the round of fireworks is done you can see an aircraft right above where the fireworks were, would have been quiet a site!

i wanted to take my camera up onto my roof this year but decided against it since it was still raining when i went up there. i did notice that LDA 22 arrivals into LGA were continuing thoughout the show, weould have been cool to see them from above!!
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

Here are a couple shots that Mel and I got from our place:

I didn't notice Silvercup Studios at first. Mel was like "Wow, the Silvercup sign is lighting up nice," and I was like "What are you talking about?"

So you keep the video camera in the bedroom. Yea.. OK. Do we need to search YouTube for the "other" videos?
