In addition to aircraft spotting I sometimes alternate with ship spotting in and around New York Harbor.

Bay Ridge in Brooklyn in fantastic ... especially for deep-water shipping. Lighting is best in the morning hours though since you're facing west. The Staten Island ferry offers surprisingly good views depending on the type of watercraft you're shooting ... I'm currently into tugboats.

Ashore on Staten Island is also of interest interest to me ... especially along the harbor (east) side and the Kill Van Kull on the north side.

Public transportation is a must for me ... so-o-o-o if anyone has any interesting spotting sites ... I'm all eyes. Thanks.
