Upcoming Canon 40D Price Tag

Greetings,

Does anyone have a clue as to the predicted street price for the upcoming Canon 40D DSLR?

How soon after the formal product announcement will these hit the big NY stores ... B&H ... J&R ... Ritz ... etc? Thanks.

I figure it'll be close to the price of the 30D at launch; the MSRP for the body only was $1399 (this was $100 lower than the price of the 20D at launch). Not sure where the street price will end up, though. As for when they'd be out, I would think that it would hit stores about a month or two after the announcement, though it might be longer before you can actually lay your hands on one as they're likely to sell out quickly (especially with preorders).
