    Space Shuttle Atlantis

Did anyone watch the takeoff last night of Atlantis? It was perfect but
what really impressed me was a closeup view of the shuttles tail/engines
taken I would guess from a photog chase plane. Really cool. It seems
like they are getting better and better photography for the departures.
ONe day I'd like to be down there when a shuttle departs.
    Godspeed Atlantis.

Yep, in the past couple of launches they've been broadcasting some amazing angles, I think mainly to watch for falling debris like that which caused the demise of Columbia.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

Unfourtunatly I had to watch the launch on TV. I had Tickets for this launch, I was all set to go down in March when it was originally scheduled. If I didn't start my new job this week I would have been right there(six miles away). It looked like a perfect launch. Great Weather.

I watched it, and yes the photography is amazing. I would agree its probably used for looking for debris.

Guess this is the best inverted flying anyone could get.
