When I started with PI at LGA in Nov. 1985 the 733's where still being delivered in the "classy" white scheme. Sadly when the first 734's started being delivered in 1987 the future merger with US had already been announced so the first 4 still had the blue stripe but on bare metal followed by the three shades of rust scheme upto N421US and above which had the then new US scheme. The white PI scheme in the photo was and is my favorite.

    Cheers

it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

The blue design was a favorite, but the first time I went to LGA those many years ago, and saw Piedmont for the 1st time, this is what I saw....

Traffic at LGA, then as now, was pretty predictable... so I always made a point to try to wait to see Piedmont, Ozark, Southern and North Central as those were the odd airlines out and the only place you could see them in our area was LGA.
