    Silverjet acquires Boeing 767

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Business airline Silverjet PLC said it has expanded its fleet to two aircraft with the delivery of a Boeing 767-200.

Luton-based Silverjet said it had acquired the jet from Thomsonfly Ltd and financed it substantially within its business plan through a sale and leaseback arrangement with Novus Capital.

The airline will refurbish the aircraft and fit it with 100 beds before using it to launch a second daily return service between Luton and New York Newark on July 2.

Silverjet plans to expand its fleet to 10 jets in the next three years and to increase its routes from one to four.

Having seen photos and video of the Silverjet seats, calling them beds is a bit of a stretch, but nice to see them adding aircraft. It's been awhile since anyone here did an Eos/Maxjet/Silverjet/L'Avion update, but news from these is always interesting.
