NEW YORK (AFX) - Boeing Co confirmed the launch schedule for its new-generation 787 Dreamliner jet, with the first delivery expected in May 2008.

The long-haul aircraft will begin to roll out of factories in July this year, with an inaugural flight in late August and further tests throughout the autumn, Boeing Commercial Airplanes head Scott Carson told reporters in a conference call.

-Cargolux orders 3 more 747-8 (expected to be new orders and not UFOs from last week)
-Virgin Blue to sign for seven 77Ws today
-Boeing ordered a fourth Dreamlifter (747-LCF)
    -787 sold out through 2013
-Boeing in negotiations with "major carriers" for 787 (likely DL and AA--they're expected to place orders in Q2 this year)
-here's the big one: by the time the 787 is certified (spring 2008), Boeing will have 40 787s nearly completed
