    Lunch goodies at IAD

    Hi Guys,

Since my new office is 5 minutes away from IAD I've been going there everyday during my lunch hour to check stuff on the ramp. Here is what I've got so far during my first 4 visits :)
The weather sucks and they park those airplanes in the worst possible places, but what you gonna do? :)

    Private - Monfort Aviation
    Boeing 727-227/Adv
    N17773

    Private - Hendrick Motorsports
    Saab 2000
    N509RH

    Private - Wynn Resorts
    Boeing 737-79U BBJ
    N88WR

    Private - KEB Corp.
    MD-87
    N287KB

    Take care,
    Rafal

    Nice shots Rafal :),
Thats a nice line up there.
Those Saab 2000s are pretty rare in the US. I have only seen one a long time ago.

If you want Saab 2000s, just do NASCAR once. Senga, if you're in Central Florida now, all the teams are doing all of their pre-season testing at Daytona before the big race (President's Day weekend). Of the 6 (!) S2000s on the US register, Hendrick Racing owns 4, Joe Gibbs Racing owns 1, and the Department of Justice owns 1 for prisoner transport.

Today IAD ramp was jammed with large biz jets and I couldn't take single shot. First in line was Comco L3 B757-200, mixed with US Army B737, Private MD87 and private B737-400 in very cool white/green colors. There was also private Dornier 328Jet but also in ackward position for pictures.
Sometimes it pays to work so close to the airport :)

Phil - I'm slowly becoming Senga of Washington DC :)

Matt, so it means that I have 1/6th of N. America Saab 2000 fleet :)
This was my very first Saab 2000 caught in USA. But I have few from Europe, and I flown on one few years ago Crossair ZRH to KRK :)

Ok, enough about IAD. Saturday I'm driving to EWR to catch that damned LOT 763 in Star Alliance colors :) 11th time is a charm ;)

Majority of the time I "luck-out" and see the SP-LPE at JFK, to make you more envious I even caught the SP-LPF . Anyway, it's already getting annoying seeing the same scheme all the time. But that's just me... Not to jinx myself, I need to catch it in good light though. I also flew PE to WAW.

Do you have the registration by any chance? N407FJ has been at Lafayette two or three times over the past few months for one reason or another, so I wouldn't be surprised if it found its way over to your neck of the woods, too.

Also, keep an eye out for King Air 200s N200PU, N300PU, and/or Beechjet 400 N400PU (the jet's in for a C-Check right now, though, but it's at IAD a lot). :)

The Do-Jets run a TEB-IAD shuttle during the week - I know the client used to be AOL Time Warner, and it may still be, but I can't say for certain. Today's was 328GT, although 419FJ and 328AC have also shown up at Dulles in the last couple of weeks.

The Purdue fleet are common visitors to IAD - offhand, maybe even the most common of all the college biz. The only other ones that I can think of that I would also call common would be the Penn State King Airs and the Kansas State C525.

I've got 2/3rds of the N-registered S2K fleet :) Of course, that's what you wind up with after 3 NASCAR at Richmond trips.

This week at IAD started with only Vision Air Boeing 737-400 N742VA. Maybe tomorrow weather will improve a little and some good stuff hit the tarmac :)

Nice shots Rafal. The white over grey on that 737 (N34315) looked familiar, from the shots on jp.net, I see it's an ex-CO bird.
