What kind of engine is this?

I was going through some of my old pix and came accross this engine shot. ORD 1998 or so.

Based on there was was placed id say it belonged to an Airborne Express DC-8
    I'd say JT3D-3B Turbofan?

It could be any of these: JT3C, JT4A, CFM56-2, or JT3D or any variants between those.. I don't know which ones Airborne Express used.

Whatever kind of engine it is I am sure if I put it on the trunnk of my blue car the pimp factor woulld go up a good margin. Now where to store all the Jet-A is the question.

LOL!.........yea im sure the babes would LOVE it

Whenever you pass some "hotties" throttle that puppy up! You'd blow them away..Literally

Pimp Factor..I have never heard of this way of determining ones marketability. But rest assured my factor would be too low to even be plotted. :)

Speaking of being "blown away" by jet engines, how many of you have ever been severely jet blasted, where it knocks you off your feet? I have, by an NW dc-9, it was AWESOME!! :d

Never done that (never really felt a particular need to...) but back in college, I worked security at Pan Am, and a couple of times I saw one of their maintenance vans (Ford Econoline types) get blown onto its side by passing too close behind a 747 with engines running at the gate

I got knocked over by a Beechjet in SRQ once... Wrong place at the wrong time as he powered off the ramp.

Looks like a JT3 to me.

    Its definitely not a CFM56.

I didn't even mean to be blown off my feet by it, it had its engines at idle, waiting to pull into the gate (Which I didn't know at the time, I thought it just pushed back). It wasn't moving for like 2 minuites, I was snapping pics of it when he throttled up (and those JT8D's need to go past 50% N1 to get any kind of movement)

Here is a picture that I took from where I was, you can imagine the rest (I was actually directly behind it when I got jet blasted, not off to the side like the pic):
