Would not like to buy a scanner so if someone has an idea I'm all ears.
Perhaps a service I can pay, and the images are placed on a CD.

Just go to someplace like Kinko's (thought I HATE that place). Try and find a printshop that's privately owned. They usually have good quality scanners and know what they're doing.
