    Old LGA Diagram

I bought a postcard at the LGA show yesterday that opened up to the following diagram:

Look at the Boat Basin behind the terminals! Look at the third runway!

Probably the best thing I've ever found at a convention.

    that's simply awesome!
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

Very cool. I'm not old enough to remember the days when LGA looked like that, but my grandparents had a store nearby so my family's ties to the airport go back to the '50s if not earlier. Love to see this sort of thing.

Looking at the two runways that still exist, it seems they added 1000' and 2000', so they cross and go out into the bay (which is why I'll never forget the first time I landed on 22  . But did they physically, or just "officially", reduce the widths from 200' to 150'? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/e ... rt_map.gif

Phil do a bit of searching on the net, I've also seen....wait I think I actaully posted a pic once, a B+W photo of the runways you speak of!
And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.
