Got My Next Trip Booked

November 16th I'll be flying out of JFK on AF007 on the mighty 777-300ER and then onto MAD the next day. Coming back I'll be on AF010 on the 747-400.

Looking forward to the 777-300ER and possibly sitting on the upper deck of the 747-400!

Of course I'll be taking lots of photos. Hoping to get some spotting time in Madrid but on short visits I mostly spend time with my friends.

in Sept I flew both of the flights, the 777-3 was great but cramped, I sat in 18A the first row of Tempo, didn't have a window but had great legroom, behind me looked very tight, I did sit on the upperdeck on flt. 10 there were 7 people for the whole upper deck it was GREAT!!! All in all good flts, great food! good service

I called to reserve seats in advance but apparently all the good seats are reserved for Elite Members (of course). I reserved 44ABC going and was given 45EGH coming back but the kind women on the phone told us to get there early and we could probably get better seats and on the way back get upper deck seats.

I just realized that two weeks from tommorow all this will be happening.

I actually find the AF 77W (std configuration) very nice and spacious, although that may depend on your height and such. Look out for the mini help-yourself beverage station between the two Y sections on the 77W. The best thing overall by far IMHO are the huge windows.

I had seats booked and switched to the bulkhead and upperdeck at the airport. day of the flights, just ask nicely and smile...

The upper deck was like a small plane... On the way off we were comming down the stairs and overheard someonen coming out the croweded back of the plane..."they have seats up there...."

I've now got 48ABE reserved for the 747-400 so atleast I can have a window. I'll get to MAD extremley early on the 25th to try and book the upper deck.

Yes, if you can, get the upper deck. (I dont know was class you are flying) but I like quiet atmosphere up there.

The other quiet place to be is at the nose of the 744. But again, not sure what class you are in. But the nose end is real peaceful if you are taking a night flight.

Well I'm off today! Today at school I have all finals and then course registration for next semester and then I'm off to JFK at 2:30!

I wanted to mention that my outbound flight went smothe despite the 50 minute wait on 13L due to the weather.

We took off from 22R and I have to say that I have been in A320's that took longer to rotate, the 777-300ER shot off like a rocket!

We ended up missing our connection to MAD from CDG because of the delay and had to wait 5 hours at CDG but it wasn't too bad.
