BWIA replacement colors are out and boy is that a sad end to a classy airline. Any takes on it?

    Hiss,
I said the same thing. That new Asiana screams AVIANCA.

I like the bird part, the titles are awful though. The new Asiana paint isn't terrible, but I like the current scheme better.

and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

Yes I like the Humming bird too. But not on a plane heeeeeeee. Maybe if they did it like JALs "Crane" or Air Jamaicas Bird that look cool.

It looks like a real life Virtual Airline to be honest. Were they aiming for a low grade holiday charter look or somthing?

Once again, the beancounters, graphics people and marketers triumph over good taste and common sense. The old BWIA design from the '70s and '80s was truly classy-looking if a bit outdated, the more recent green and yellow with the steel drum is striking and different, but this just looks like leasing company white with a "graphics-rich" decal applied. Unfortunately I think the latter is the future of airline liveries because it's efficient to have a white, easily re-leasable aircraft with easily removeable stickers as the 'branding.'
The Asiana looks a little busy and derivative for my tastes, but again, they went for the white base. Sometimes it's good to leave well enough alone. AA is the world's largest airline, never filed for bankruptcy, and they have spent zero dollars on livery changes or new corporate identities in decades. Mind you, passengers have alot of complaints about AA (as with any airline), but the livery I am sure is not one of them.

I think the Asiana scheme is a HUGE improvement. Keep in mind the current scheme looks like the painter spilled Kaopectate all over the planes.
