Way back on September 9, I'd been planning to drop by JFK for a while to do some spotting with everyone, but since the winds were wrong, I just kept driving west on the Belt (I was bringing my car from Franklin Square to Hamilton, NJ). The day wasn't a total loss, though, as there was a "Balloonfest" being held that evening in a nearby park; probably about a dozen or so hot air balloons set up on a large field and took passengers up for a trip. I took about 400 pictures, all told, but since I had to shoot into the sun for the setup most of them didn't come out well; at least the wind was right this time, and they went right overhead heading east.
