    LAX: Nov 16-18

I will heading out for a brief trip to LAX, Friday to Sunday on November 16-18. I've not been there since October 2005, and I'm very excited.

I'm hoping that the smoke that i know if being experienced due to the fires are gone. Here's my list of what I'd like to try to get that's always eluded me in the past or wasn't around the last time:

    Raytheon 727
    China Eastern A346 special scheme
    EVA 777-300
China Southern 772 (Gotten if before, but I love it)

I'm planning on getting there mid-afternoon Friday, and leaving early AM Sunday, with spotting all day Saturday. Anyone going to be out there by chance?
Email me anytime at [email protected].

    Phil,

Thats exactly what I'm doing :) I've got that Raytheon 727 yesterday around 3pm. Eva Air 777-300 around 4pm. China Southern 777 arrives late.
I'm hoping to get China Eastern special cs A340-600 today :)

    Rafal,
Do check out the Flight Path museum (open Tue-Sat 10a-2p) if get some time, you will be surprised.
Have a great time in LA.

Yes Rafal, definitely check out the museum! If you ask nicely, they will let you step outside to a little fenced off area (very low fence) facing the runways. It's basically ramp access without all the hassles. Also, I've had some great conversations with the people who volunteer there as most of them are ex-airline employees (many from the days of Pan Am, TWA, etc.). It's a shame that I only discovered it on my third visit to LA. Have fun! :)

Was there this morning and the rain last night cleared out the air. One of the clearest days I've seen at LAX in a long time.

Had a great time...and do go by the museum and look up Tim if he is working that day. He'll hook you up with one of the escorts who can take you outside!!

gotta agree with you there, there's just something special about that scheme...
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
