    JFK 10-22-2011

Came down to JFK for the day to hang out with Kaz, but unfortunately he was feeling a bit under the weather and couldn't enjoy a good day of spotting. Hope you feel better soon buddy. I met up with Mark early and we hung out most of the day. The day was looking like it was going to be rather dull until I saw that a Saudia A 340-200 was enroute from IAD to JFK. This quickly filled us with excitement as that bird is a rare gem apparently. That excitement quickly went away when she was put on 22R which created massive heat hazed photos. Had to settle for getting her by the triple hangars.

Today brought in a total of 4 Saudia jets (at least under daylight). 2-777s, 1-A342, and 1-747SP. Mark, you ended up getting the SP shot right?

    The late Trip7

And a few others from today

And the shot I've been wanting for the longest time....

Fill in the blanks Mark. Can't wait to see that SP pic. Was great hanging out with you all day today.

Here are just some of mine from yesterday.........still have plenty more to go through. It was definitely a Saudi assault yesterday! It was a pleasure hanging and shooting with you Steve....and Kaz, get better soon. Even though broken clouds rolled in during the afternoon, the majority of the day the light was fantastic.

Thanks Kaz and Rich! The activity was alright, with the exception of the Saudi activity which was great. Other than that the only specials we saw were a couple of Delta Skyteam logos and two jetBlue specials. But the Saudia planes definitely made it all worthwhile.

Mark, again, it was a pleasure hanging out with you all day. You got some killer looking shots.

I definitely know where I'm getting breakfast from when I visit JFK now. That diner was great.

Here's a few more (2 more from mounds and then rest from Panera)

Nice set guys... especially the Saudis... Steve, the Korean A380 never disappoints, and your shot shows it... wow!

Thanks Manny! It was well worth the wait, and I'm glad the sun cooperated and popped out for the departure.

Steve, the Eva MD-11 and 747 RARELY go long and typically we see belly shots at hobe... you;re very lucky indeed.

Lucky in deed i guess. Guess that made up for being at N. Woodmere shooting 22L arrivals when Cargo Italia MD-11 departed 22R. Had I known thatwas there I would have gone to Bayswater.
