    LGA 04/29/2011 - BWS

I had a two hour commute from LI to Manhattan yesterday and while passing College Point, I decided to visit McNeil Park as I had never been there before. LGA was on 22 for arrivals and 31 for deps.

The weather was horrible (light wise) and perfect for simple scouting/testing. Bad results would not be wasted on good light

Well, I love the place... getting there via College Point Blvd. on a Friday afternoon could want to make you commit suicide .. ugh, the traffic and narrow streets do not help one bit. Getting out is just as bad even if you take the route I took towards the Whitestone Bridge instead of back to the Whitestone Exp./GCP route.

Once at the park though, you are rewarded with peaceful streets, very quiet neighborhood and great people.

That does in fact look like one heck of a place to spot from! Great stuff considering the bad light Manny! Love the shots with the Empire State Building in the background.

By any chance Manny, would you have a shot of Delta 346 that landed around 5:35pm. B757? My fiancee was coming back from Panama via ATL, and I couldn't spot AND pick her up :)

I really like the Air Canada shot. Was it really 600mm to get the shot?

    Thanks guys :-)

Rom, sorry, I deprated early as I had to get to my main office for a 4:00pm meeting :-( Otherwise I would have stayed til sundown!

Kaz!! You missed yesterday, I am pissed at you

Jeremy, YES! 600mm indeed. I had the 200-400mm f/4 + TC17II (1.7x) on my Full Frame FX D3... I had about 650mm total as the combo gets REALLY REALLY SOFT after that. You can use 800mm here with the small guys crossing the ESB... 747s would be much better to get ;-)
