I was wondering the same thing. Must have all been in the timing. What time they touched down and they could get him on Marine 1. This is a powerful and deadly storm with tornado
warnings for NYC. But also moving very fast.

Watching Nick Gregory on Fox now the timeline was about 5:29 in the Bayonne (NJ) Staten Island area and around 5:46 for the JFK area so they were definitely ahead of the oncoming wall of this monster storm but not by much. Anyone know where the LZ in Stamford was?

And I gather the "go" "no go" is entirely in the hands of the Marine pilots. No pressure from the White House staff.
