It is being reported by ATW that V Australia is coming up on announcing a big aircraft order, among them 777-200LRs which would allow them nonstop service from Sydney to JFK and also Perth to London Heathrow (LHR).

The order would include dozens of aircraft including 777-200LRs, 737-800s and 737-900s.

V Australia currently has four of their seven 777-300ER ordered, which they use to fly destinations such as Fiji, Thailand and South Africa from Australia. They do not yet operate to Europe, and Los Angeles (LAX) is the only airport in North America that they visit. This JFK and LHR service would begin sometime in 2011.
