After being introduced to the media, Jackman and the cabin crew revealed the image of Atom, the film’s 2,000-lb “World Robot Boxing” contender along the rear-half of the aircraft fuselage. Jackman then spent time discussing his character Charlie Kenton’s comeback and rise to the top as Charlie teams up with his son Max to get one last shot.

Real Steel is directed by Shawn Levy, produced by Don Murphy, Susan Montford, and Shawn Levy, with a screenplay written by John Gatins. Jackman concluded by stating he flies Virgin America frequently and is excited to team up with Virgin America in promoting the film, which opens today.

The newly-decorated Airbus A320, registered N629VA, was delivered to Virgin America in 2007 and was previously named Midnight Ride. It joins a number of other TV and movie-themed aircraft in the airline’s fleet, including Entourage Air (N628VA), for the HBO series Entourage, and Air Colbert (N621VA), named after comedian Stephen Colbert.
