Air Tahiti Nui hosted guests at a special 15th anniversary event at LAX yesterday. This year, the airline launched a $17 million cabin reconfiguration and entertainment system installation on its fleet of five Airbus A340-300 aircraft. The Poerava business class features 32 Sogerma “lie-flat cocoon” seats. Seats in economy class Moana are 18-inches wide with an average pitch of 32 inchs. All seats have touchscreen displays with on-demand access to 50 movies and television shows.

Nick Panza, VP of North America for Air Tahiti Nui, spoke to a crowded room about the airline’s accomplishments over the past 15 years. “The little airline that can” brought 4.2 million passengers to the United States, of which 700,000 were tourists. This accounted for $2.8 billion of tourist expenditures in the U.S. over 15 years.

Air Tahiti Nui flies between Los Angeles and Papeete, Los Angeles and Paris, Papeete and Tokyo, and Papeete and Auckland. Visit www.airtahitinui.com.
