The FAA announced Friday the first round of contracted air traffic control towers to be closed due to sequestration, starting April 7th.

Among the towers being closed is Trenton Mercer, which is just outside of Philadelphia and has recently seen Frontier expand their operations significantly.

Although these airports will remain open, as approach and landing clearances will be handled by other facilities, it is up to each airline as to whether they will continue to operate from these airports.

A full list of towers expected to be closed can be found at the FAAs website.
