A Delta Air Lines MD-90 that was hoping to depart Boston to bring passengers to Atlanta, instead disembarked everyone on a taxiway this afternoon.

According to Twitter user @kevindavisphoto, Flight 2101 suffered a brake fire, causing it to be surrounded by fire trucks and receive a hosing down of the main gear. Passengers exited via airport air-stairs and were put on buses to be taken back to the terminal.

It is yet unknown if the aircraft had tried to takeoff or if the fire occurred while taxiing to the runway.

UPDATE 5:43pm EST: Delta Air Lines reports that all 143 passengers are safe and that they are being assisted with rebooking.
