A New American Hits New York

American Airlines unveiled their new look to New York City on Friday as part of their  “Becoming New American” tour, flying in the first Boeing 737 painted in the company’s new livery. The new look marks the first overhaul of the Dallas-based carrier’s public image in a generation.

American Airlines VP of New York and International Operations, Timothy Ahern, spoke of the new logo as a soaring eagle that will grace the skies during a short speech to media and guests. Ahern additionally added that the livery had been under lock and key for two years, at least until the public unveiling in Dallas on January 17, 2012.

The airplane, registered N908NN, visited New York’s John F Kennedy (JFK) airport before heading over to nearby LaGuardia later that evening.

I believe that Ahern probably spoke of the eagle as “soaring” not “souring.”
