United Airlines on Thursday inaugurated new service between Los Angeles and Hilo, Hawai’i. The daily flight is scheduled to depart from Los Angeles at 17:00 PST and land at 19:40 HST. The return flight will depart from Hilo at 20:50 HST and arrive in Los Angeles the next morning at 05:15 PST.

The flights will be operated with former-Continental Airlines 737-800 jets which United has configured with 16 First class seats and 144 Coach Class seats.
“Together, United and Continental have served Hawai’i for more than six decades, and this new nonstop service provides our customers with more access to the islands,” said Jim Compton, executive Vice President and Chief Revenue officer of United Continental Holdings.
“We are proud to host United Airlines direct flights from Los Angeles,” said County of Hawai’i Mayor Billy Kenoi. “It means we can offer our visitors true Hilo hospitality and show them premier attractions such as the Hawai’i Volcano National Park.”
Since 1947 United has been serving the islands of Hawai’i from many West Coast cities and its main hubs such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Houston, Chicago and Newark. With all of its daily flights United provides more access to the islands than any other U.S. Carrier.
