Two flights from Tokyo which landed in Chicago and Dallas triggered radiation alarms at those airports on Wednesday, according to a New York Post report.

Low levels of radiation were detected on the luggage of the Dallas flight, as well as in the jet’s cabin air filtration system. Passengers were allowed to leave without being quarantined.

“We are aware of the radiation,” said Chicago Aviation Department spokesman Karen Pride told WBBM in Chicago. “We are adding screenings and precautionary measures.”

Passengers arriving from Tokyo will also be screened at Los Angeles International Airport. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which runs New York’s area airports, will reportedly meet with airline and security officials about possible responses today.
