Malaysia Airlines will discontinue service on their KUL-ARN-EWR route in October, according to a post on the company’s Twitter and a subsequent report published by the Malaysian state press agency.
The service is being ended because “demand (has) dropped due to the global economic crisis.” Malaysia says their offices in New York and Stockholm will remain open, and that customers in the affected cities will continue to be served by Malaysia’s codeshare and alliance partners, such as KLM.
The long-haul route is operated by a 777-200ER aircraft.
