Construction Photos: Delta’s New JFK Terminal 4 Extension

The two easternmost rows of check-in desks will be used by Delta exclusively.

A new structure under construction in the Delta portion of the terminal.

The central section of Terminal 4, which was previously open from the 1st floor to the roof, is being covered over with the new centralized security checkpoint.

The two TSA checkpoints at T4 will be condensed to a centralized checkpoint.

Several cameras will keep a watchful eye on each of the 12 lanes of T4's new centralized security checkpoint.

Terminal 4 Delta Sky Club will measure 24,000 square feet, making it the largest in the Delta network and one of the largest of any airline at JFK.

Construction workers examine blueprints in the new Sky Club.

There's a door from the Sky Club to the roof.

This will be a bar inside the Sky Club.

This would make a great spot for an outdoor Sky Club deck, *wink*.

Anyone in the mood for spaghetti?

An escalator will deliver Sky Club guests to the main entrance.

A Delta 767 parked at what is currently T4 West's southernmost gate. The West concourse will have nine additional gates when the expansion project is completed.

An Emirates Boeing 777-300ER taxis away from T4 and past a TAM Airbus A330 enroute to Dubai.

A plane is seen taking off from Runway 31L.

This will be one of the several showers and massage rooms in the new Sky Club.

In addition to getting bigger, T4 will see some new architectural features, such as this undulating ceiling.

A new baggage claim area on the east side of Terminal 4 featuring two additional carousels is already in service.
