Today we welcomed Spirit Airlines back to PHL after a multi-year absence. They were originally scheduled to come in yesterday but had not not been able to obtain the necessary FAA authorization for undisclosed reasons. This worked out in the end as the conditions could not have been more favorable. As they exited 27R TWR welcomed them to the Philly family. Three new carriers in less than a year

About an hour and a half later, they departed back to DFW:

Had a pretty good day otherwise. After several months and many instances of missing it by minutes, I finally managed to catch the smile! I almost missed it again as it fast-taxiied out from the ramp to 27L. Had I not noticed that the tail had moved from behind the terminal, it would have been too late by the time I got into position. Those poor people on the plane had no idea I was cursing at them as I flew down Hog Island Road at 90mph to catch them departing

And check this out- the USAir 'clown plane'. Don't they have their own spares supply or do they have to raid United's???

Not to be outdone, United snagged one back from US

An interesting bizjet, the IAI Astra

A lot of heat haze yesterday killed these touchdowns, but I'll take em anyway

some helo action by the FBO

along with the usual suspects

and for the '3-holer lovers'

Now get out and enjoy that weekend you worked for
