Northern Air Cargo 737-200 to JFK (pics)

Went out early to shoot the Northern Air Cargo 737-200 this morning. As usual I was greeting with Rain, snow, fog and wind. I am a glutton for punishment when it come to the weather.
A beautiful 200 series with a beautiful livery.

    a new rare catch a week! :D

    Thank you,
Glad to get this one. Now that I think about it. I NAC is one of thee 737-200 operators in the US- The others being Sky King and Ameristar . This concludes my US Born 737-200 operators :)

Senga where did it come from?

As far as 737-200s in the US, Sierra Pacific might still fly it, Ryan had at least one not too long ago.

I too love the NAC paintscheme. Looks perfect on the 737 classic

I remembered when people would make a huge deal out of the 737's getting winglets. I did not like how they looked and did not want to say anything as I was worried everyone would think I was crazy...but the -200 is one HOT looking little airplane!
The three most common expressions in aviation are, "Why is it doing that?", "Where are we?" and "Oh Crap".

Went out early again to get the NAC B732 on departure. I was at home getting ready to get my hair cut and I got the alert at 645am...it had filed a planned departure for 719am! So I dropped everythning and heading out. Turns out the plane departed 1:45 minute late.
My ground shot got destroyed because of a blasted UAL 757 that taxied in front of the damn 737 and to make things worse the plane lifted up way to early so I was stuck YET again with more cloudy crappy shots. I am a glutton for punishment.
I Love the 737-200 as well Fred. it has to be one of the best looking modern day airliners. I also love when they leave the engines in bare metal- it can't get any better than that.

Mario it flew- KONT-KJFK-KSHV and now to MMAA

Nlovis....if you have shots of your USA B732 Post them I'd like to see them.

Re: Northern Air Cargo 737-200 to JFK (pics)

I thought maybe you had NAC already. Once again, great catch my brother!

The red there actually looks darker almost brick-red in cloudy weather. Curiously it's a more normal red when the sun hits it (looks best in cloudy weather IMO). 737-200 series rule.

Only plane I find the winglets look good is on the 757, 99.9% of plane geeks however jump for joy when they see a plane with winglets. That's why I never let anyone know HOW MUCH I HATE WINGLETS

....yes post them NLovis, but aren't you a little too young to have seen those? The USAir 737-200s s were all in the regular livery by about uhh the mid-90's.

    Mario,
Mario, no I didn't have NAC yet. I was pretty bummed that they were getting them in MIA to Haiti rigtht after the earthquake and I wasn't down there to shoot it.
That's true, this livery looks really nice in bright sun in crappy weather like I shot it in it doesn't look as good :( That bright cherry red turn like a dark cranberry color or something when its cloudy.
I thought the same thing about Nlovis..I was like....isn't Nlovis too young to have shot USA B732s?
    :) Post away!

Well that one seems more interesting, eerie/mysterious looking in cloudy light to my eyes. Seems like a shot taken many years ago or something, kinda cool. All the NAC shots I've seen on the photo sites with good light looked kinda boring to me.

A rare case where cloudy makes it more interesting :D
