MINNEAPOLIS - Northwest Airlines' troubles aren't getting any better. The airline canceled more than 600 flights since Friday, continuing its flight disruptions on Monday.

The carrier canceled more than 100 flights by midday Monday, according to FlightStats.com. Northwest grounded 224 flights on Sunday, 178 flights on Saturday and 125 flights on Friday, the Web site reported.

The company continues to attribute the problem to pilot absenteeism. More...
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

This is going to continue to be a problem till the new pilots come in, or the summer load gets smaller. They have already reduced the flight schedule for August, and they are taking measures to cancel flights in enough notice to get people on other flights.

Mesa Air is having the same problem.

Just look to see some domestic A330's and 747's today and tomarrow, the problem will be gone again starting August 1st, so only two days left!

those idiots blame the pilots for everything,ALPA warned them 6 months ago that they were understaffed. The pilots are timing out, end of story.
The beehive hummm of the JT9D and GE CF680C2,the thunder of the JT8D-17,the rumble of the PW1830 and the high ,thin whine of the PW 545A are all music to my ears!
