The leasing firm, headed by industry pioneer Steven Udvar-Hazy, split the order between 60 737 MAX 8s and 15 of the larger 737 MAX 9s, worth a total of $7.2 billion at list prices.
ALC becomes the first leasing company to order the new, more fuel efficient version of the workhorse 737.
“The 737 MAX is an excellent addition to our portfolio and the ideal complement to our growing fleet of Next-Generation 737-800s,” said Udvar-Hazy, chairman and CEO of ALC, in a statement. “The 737 MAX represents a step-change improvement that our airline clients need to compete in the future.”
