Connecting between JetBlue Airways and Air China flights will soon become easier thanks to a new partnership between the two carriers.

At the 68th Annual General Meeting of the International Air Transport Association in Beijing on Monday, the airlines announced a deal which initially will feature interline agreements at New York-JFK International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport. Interlining, which is expected to begin this summer, will allow travelers to book travel on both airlines with a single ticket and checked bags will automatically be transferred between connecting flights.

Later, the partnership will include a codeshare, in which Air China’s code will be placed on JetBlue-operated flights.

Air China currently operates two daily Beijing flights to/from LAX, and one daily flight to/from JFK. The airline’s newly-upgraded Boeing 777-300ER aircraft which operate both flights to Los Angeles will also be deployed to New York beginning October 1.

While both airlines also serve San Francisco International Airport, the interline agreement will not include either carrier’s flights there.
