JetBlue’s Treasurer, Mark Powers, has taken over the CFO role on an interim basis while the company searches for a replacement.

“Under Ed’s leadership, our company has benefitted from a stronger financial discipline, allowing us to plan a sustainable growth strategy,” said Dave Barger, JetBlue’s President and CEO in a statement. “The financial team Ed built will continue to serve JetBlue well, and we wish him well in his future endeavors.”

Barnes had served as CFO since 2008, and originally joined JetBlue in 2006 as Vice President, Cost Management and Financial Analysis. Powers joined the company in 2006 as Treasurer and Vice President Corporate Finance until he was promoted to Senior Vice President Treasurer in 2007.
