Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor said the small six-seat Cessna 210 (N50MC) crashed about 2.5 miles (4 kilometers) southeast of Barstow-Daggett Airport, an airport in San Bernardino County. The accident happened at around 12.40 p.m. local time.

“We believe the aircraft is a Cessna 210 that was heading from John Wayne Airport to Henderson Executive Airport in suburban Las Vegas,” Gregor said. All three people on board were killed in the crash.

The identities of the victims, or who the aircraft was registered to, was not immediately known. Both the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will investigate the cause of the accident.

The deadly crash comes just four days after a twin-engine Beechcraft King Air plane crashed on departure at Long Beach Airport, not far from the city of Los Angeles. Five people were killed, while a sixth person was hospitalized in a critical condition.
