Reports that a Qantas Airbus A380 superjumbo jet had crashed in Indonesia were quickly put to rest Wednesday night when the plane made a safe emergency landing in Singapore.
Debris from Qantas Flight 32 carrying 443 people enroute to Sydney, was found on an island south of Singapore shortly after the plane took off.
The incident aircraft was registered VH-OQA, the first A380 delivered to Qantas in September 2008.

Rumors of a plane crash spread quickly across the internet via Twitter, but Qantas soon dispelled the reports, saying that one of the plane’s four Rolls Royce Trent 900 engines had failed and the plane had returned safely to Changi Airport in Singapore.
