Lufthansa Flight Out of Newark Diverts to Iceland When Several Passengers Get Sick

Lufthansa Flight 413, an Airbus A340-600 flying from Newark Liberty Airport (EWR) to Munich (MUC) was forced to land at Keflavik, Iceland (KEF) early Wednesday morning when five passengers came down with food poisoning, according to avherald.com.

All of the ill passengers were taken to a local hospital by ambulance, though there is no word on their condition. Tests are underway of the food on the plane and at Newark airport restaurants where the passengers ate.

The flight arrived in Munich about 5 1/2 hours late, according to the Lufthansa website.
