Federal authorities are investigating a phone threat made against an American Airlines plane at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) on Thursday.
Greg Soule, a spokesman for the Transportation Security Administration, said it was aware of an alleged threat made via phone against American Airlines flight 24, shortly before it was due to take off en-route to New York City’s John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK).
” Out of an abundance of caution, TSA requested the plane be moved to a remote location,” Soule said. “Passengers are being deplaned and will be interviewed and rescreened. The aircraft will be swept by local law enforcement.”
