British Airways Unite cabin crew staff have voted overwhelmingly for strike action against the airline over plans to change cabin crew hours and crew level cuts, although no time-period for the planned strike has been set as of yet.

This is their second attempt to moving forward with a strike after their last blocked attempt during Christmas. Of the 80% of the Unite members that voted, 81% of the votes were in favor of the plan to strike.  British Airways  has stated that they are very interested in resolving the issue, and also said in a post on its web site “The outcome of the ballot is very disappointing and brings a renewed threat of industrial action, which is completed unjustified”.  A Unite representation said the vote was an “indication of deep sense of grievance that our members feel” and the airline must resolve this “through negotiation and not through litigation and certainly not through intimidation”.  Shop Stewards will meet Tuesday to consider the strike day.

"Hi…yeah, we outtie. Buh bye. Buh Bye."
