Alask Airlines' "Spirit of Disney II" 737-900 N318AS

• JAL reports that they are likely to choose Delta’s SkyTeam alliance partner, leaving American’s OneWorld team, for their future restructuring plans. This is after American offered a $1.1 billion investment into JAL, whereas Delta offered an aid package of about $1billion, plus a $500 million equity investment.
• A man is seeking an apology from an American Airlines flight attendant lost her mind on him, for what many witnesses say was literally only asking for a glass of orange juice. In an apparent effort to cover her tracks by turning the tables, she had the Captain fill out an official warning of potential federal charges on the passenger for interfering with the flight crew.
• Alaska Airlines has created its first special scheme on a Boeing 737-900. The aircraft registered N318AS is now painted in a light blue scheme that is covered with various Disney characters called “Spirit of Disney II”. This aircraft replaces a 737-400 that had a similar scheme which was recently retired.
• Senator Chuck Schumer had to apologize for his comment made to an US Airways flight attendant who had told him to shut his cellphone off during a flight. After calling her a beeeeeeooootch, he said his choice of words during his period of displeasure were poor.
• British Airways’ OpenSkies will reportedly be changing New York airports, instead operating at Newark instead of JFK beginning January 10, 2010. [AirlinerRoute.net]
