• The TSA accidentally leaked a manual discussing their screening procedures. Whoopsies! The documents explain who is exempt form screening , who is to be chosen for selective screening.

• The 787 is now going through its final gauntlet testing, and Boeing is now expecting the aircraft to have its first flight on December 15th at 10am. NYCAviation will be there on the scene, providing you with constant updates via Twitter and getting photos to you fast. Stay tuned!

• United Airlines placed orders for 25 Airbus A350s and Boeing 787s each, in addition to 50 options for both types. They also expressed an interest in buying narrowbodies in the new year, and asked Embraer for some proposals. [NYCAviation]

• Republic Airways is considering replacing all of Frontier Airlines’ 50 Airbus aircraft with Bombardier’s C-Series jets. [Reuters]

• The overflight of Minneapolis by a Northwest aircraft weeks ago is still in the headlines, as the co-pilot tried to cast blame on the Captain, and it was also learned that teh aircraft was tuned to the wrong frequency for the durations of their 1 hour, 16 minute radio-vanishing act.

• A woman who flew to Las Vegas on Northwest an apparently won nothing, is suing the airline for a knee injury she sustained while climbing over an armrest trying to get to her seat. the armrest was unable to go up, which for some reason prevented her form getting to the seat for an unknown reason.

• Continental passengers were forced to sleep in a terminal after the aircraft diverted to Helena, Montana with engine troubles. After 9 hours of a tile-floor bed with no aircraft fix, Continental sent another 737 to rescue it. [NYCAviation]
