The Logbook

• A Beech King Air 1900 crashed just after takeoff from Wilson Airport in Nairobi, Kenya, killing the two men on-board. It was the fourth crash at the airport this year.

• With their depressing wing issues behind them, Boeing announced that they are expecting the 787 to fly by Christmas time.

• Arik Air will be starting flights to JFK from Lagos, Nigeria with Airbus A340-500s on November 29th.

• Jet Airways will be bringing the 777-300 to EWR this holiday season from Mumbai.

• Two and a half years after putting on a pair of diapers and driving 18 hours to try to kill her ex-boyfriend, former Astronaut Lisa Nowak pleaded guilty to various charges also including the attempted kidnapping and battery of her ex’s current girlfriend.

• After a 20-year hiatus allowing them to aerate, Iraqi Airways is taking steps to resume direct flights to Paris soon.
