    Joke's on me

    All,

Thought I would post this interesting little tidbit. Bought a roundtrip to MIA through Expedia. When I booked, it said that I had purchased first class on the leg back to PHL. At first I thought I had imagined it, so I re-booked it and there it was again: First Class. I knew this had to be wrong given what I was paying. But like a fool I remained hopeful, as if through some cosmic alignment of merger confusion and reservation system hiccups, I somehow had managed to beat the system, just this once. David defeats Goliath type of thing. Then I get this email today
    Dear Valued Customer,

We are aware of a recent issue with your purchase of an Economy Class ticket for flights marketed by US Airways and sold on Expedia.

As a result of a US Airways/American Airlines merger-related system issue, the class of service displayed for your Economy Class ticket (both at the time of purchase, as well as on your itinerary) indicate that the ticket is in a class other than Economy.

The class of service for this itinerary is Economy. Should you wish to cancel this reservation, American Airlines/US Airways have authorized Expedia to issue a refund without penalties. However, you must contact Expedia no later than Friday, February 13, 2015 to process this refund. Please call Expedia Customer Service at 1-877-261-3523.

If you wish to continue your travel in the Economy Class cabin, please be assured that your travel is purchased and confirmed.

    Thank you,

    Expedia Travel Support

Joke's on me! Oh well, if I get there and back in one piece that's just fine with me. This ever happen to anyone else?

I like how they call it "a class other than Economy." They don't even want to say the words "First Class" - maybe out of fear that someone might try to sue them for an upgrade.

You should team up with others and file a class action suit. Pun intended
