    KJFK KLGA Spotting c1970s

Here are some oldies I shot when was a kid in the late 70s. Sorry the scans are not great- I need to get
    a better slide scanner.

Braniff 727s at the gate JFK. Can't remember which terminal it was.

Avianca 707 Pan Am rooftop observation deck JFK T3

PA 747 SP Pan Am rooftop observation deck JFK T3

AA 727 Landing LGA on RWY4. Big gap in the fence I used to shoot through!

LGA Observation deck at night. Main terminal. I arrived on that 737 from sleep away camp near Albany.
Persuaded my parents to let me go up to the observation deck to grab this shot before I picked up my luggage.
Imagine that- a 737 from ALbany to LGA!

Finally, a TWA (Old school livery) 707 short final. I road my bike down to 22L and shot this from Rockaway Blvd.
Must have been 14 years old at the time.

    Lovin the SP
The three most common expressions in aviation are, "Why is it doing that?", "Where are we?" and "Oh Crap".

I think the SP generally looks horrendous (sorry!). I think I even prefer Fred's photoshopped version :) But awesome stuff Don, gotta love the old school stuff.

Braniff at JFK was at the old UAL terminal. I remember going there with dad when i was a tiny tot. How I wish I could go back in time but with today's camera equipment.

Don, you rule. If only I had pointed my Vivitar 110 at some planes back in the 80's...I'd have some soft photos but I'd have 'em like you have yours

Ha! I had a 110 camera back then. Most of these shots were 35mm slides, except for the TWA 707- that's the oldest one
in the group. I either shot that with my 110, or 126 cartridge Instamatic. I would hang the camera from my handle bars
and peddle about 4 miles across Queens to 22L.

Don ..... Thanks for sharing. These are priceless and bring back lots of memories. I remember going after school to the field and watching from the Pan Am rooftop.

I wish they can get a life and rebuild or reopen observation decks in all airports.
