Southwest Freedom 1 dropped into CLT. It arrived last night around 9pm and overnighted, departed around 8am this morning.


Unfortunately, they parked it at the wrong gate last night...





Thanks to the remnants of Tropical Storm Nicholas, it was a cloudy, drizzly morning, but that didn't keep me from heading out to shoot it.

This past Tuesday, Southwest Airlines introduced this new special scheme commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World and the airline. WN had been operating about 4 years before they adopted the name Southwest Airlines in 1971. It dropped in to CLT this afternoon, and we were able to get out to catch the departure back to MDW. I had heard about the new scheme, but I hadn't even had a chance to set up a FlightAware alert for it; fortunately someone on the CLT Spotter FB page posted a heads up on it.

Philadelphia Eagles came to Charlotte this afternoon to play the Panthers tomorrow. They flew in on an AA787 - I'm not sure we've had a 787 in to CLT before.









Also caught the daily LH A350 arriving.
