Mmmmm... Look at those WHITE wheels.

Nice work on those Dash8s! Suspending ops on 23 will definitely force more Dash8 traffic over to 18C! Now hurry up November so I can come down and get my fill of Piedmont Dash Trash in the sweet light.

Moose I love the shots of US's newest A-330, glad you caught her delievery flight as this is the last A-330 delivery this year so could be the last A-330 delivery in that scheme. BTW I was impressed how quickly she was pressed into service, only two days later on Aug 12 she operated US 720 CLT-FCO to cover for an out of service A-330-300 stuck in FRA.

Thanks, Ron! I did see a couple of shots of her departing on that first revenue flight over on the CLT Spotters FB page.

Other than catching that A330 arrival, I hadn't been out to CLT in weeks. This evening, I took advantage of a break in the clouds for a quick trip - it's supposed to rain for most of the next week. When I got there, I discovered they were using Rwy 36L/C/R. Unfortunately, most arrivals were on 36L (out of sight behind the overview) and most departures were on 36R.

Not quite as new as N288AY, but this A321 is only about two months old.

We were treated to an AA Mad Dog in all her glory!

If you get a heavy departing 36R, you can get some interesting shots - this is US 802, heading to Sao Paulo.

And US 730 off to London Heathrow.

Thanks, Kenny! Running some errands around town today, and I took advantage of a short break in the clouds to stop by the overview for a bit.

Another new jet - delivered to US last month.

Great catches Moose! Sorry I didn't make it down to CLT last week. I was vacationing in Asheville and the day I set aside to do spotting the weather was awful. :( Catch you guys on my next trip.

Nice catch, Adam. I'm out of town for another week, but I should be back when they start scheduled service with that thing.

It's a cloudy Saturday, with on and off showers (more on than off this afternoon) but the Giants headed to town to play the Panthers on Sunday afternoon. Like last year, they flew in on a UAL 764, unfortunately they landed on Rwy 18L, so it was a reach from the overview.

They parked down in the cargo area, and I headed over, hoping to catch them leaving the airplane. Problem is, the cargo area is on the exact opposite side of the airport from the overview, and following a Charlotte PD cruiser much of the way, I didn't make any time getting there. I did see their convoy of buses, with a PD escort, driving away. I settled for a couple of shots of the aircraft on the ramp.

Took a ride to the Overview after work this afternoon. Ops were on 36C, so it was mainly departures going past.

I'd love to catch LH on 36C when they bring the A340 - I'd probably be shooting down on the aircraft when it goes by!

As Adam posted above, we now have the new AA A319 (with Sharklets!) operating into CLT. They started revenue service last week, and I finally had the chance to catch one.

The A319 may be the new kid on the block, but there's still some life left in this Old Dog...

    Thanks, Don!

Not CLT, but the B-17 Memphis Belle is spending the weekend at nearby Concord Regional Airport (JQF) It's actually closer to my place than CLT, and home to much of the NASCAR Air Force, so I need to get over there a little more often.
