for a second I thought you were referring to this '' forgotten shuttle''
You will never know what you will be capable of until you try
Amazing. I never heard of this mock-up. Sort of reminds me of those Concorde prototypes which had been forgotten. We must remember, without the original mock-ups no Shuttle or Concordes would have ever flown. Wonder if there is a 747 mock-up in existence.
The Buran will be ferried to JFK on top of the Antonov carrier for display next to the Enterprise at Intrepid!

BRING BACK THE KJFK/KLGA OBSERVATION DECKS
Manny you don't know how badly I needed that laugh, thanks bro
Don't we all wish. Well, the joke used to be when someone went to the bathroom: "What did I miss?" the silly spotter would ask the rest of the crew. "The Space Shuttle escorted by a pair of SR-71s" or something along those lines.
Now we will have to use "The Buran on top of the Antonov mother ship" since the Shuttle ACTUALLY came to JFK!!! lol

BRING BACK THE KJFK/KLGA OBSERVATION DECKS
Ha, that was the best part about Enterprise coming here. It was THE "you missed it" joke for as long as I remember....and it actually happened!
Oh. And I missed it. haha

Don't know about 747 mock-ups, but there is the cockpit of the Boeing 2707 SST prototype at the Hiller Museum (at SQL, one airport south of SFO). I can't find the pictures in my online photos, but they had it open at open cockpit day awhile back.
