Air Force One in Orlando on Friday

Hello. My first post here. Looks like VC-25 is headed to Orlando on Friday. Was hoping I could gleam some wisdom from anyone who may have taken photos of AF-1 before at MCO or SFB (Because I'm not sure yet which of the 2 it will be landing at).

What can I expect? Are the usual spots at MCO (IE the parking garage, and Mcoy Road across the highway from the 18L/R thresholds) still available or blocked off? In the past I've also shot photos from the outside stairs of the Flight Safety building next to 18R. Are these likely to be blocked off, in your experiences?

Thanks in advanced. I've been trying to get a nice photo of AF-1 for a looooong time. It is my white whale.

Hello and welcome to the site. I was lucky enough to have AF1 show up at MCO while I was on vacation back in June. Safe to say I headed out to grab a few shots of it. It will most likely land 18R and park on the ramp just north of the Post Office. The shots below I took from the parking lot at Flight Safety which is north of Bear Rd. You have to be sure you're paying attention as you are shooting through a gap in the trees and AF1 will most likely take off to the North off of 36L. I almost missed it when I was there since I was not expecting a northerly departure since everything was landing on 18R.

    Happy hunting!

Thank you for the reply. Obviously I will have to wait now till the next time he is in town. Fantastic shots you took there!! I am definitely going to try from that same location if it uses that same runway.

Once again, thanks again for the tip and for sharing your photos!

Here's a couple from the departure off 36L. The afternoon sun was behind us so it worked out perfectly.

nice shot! i always prefer the look of an airplane as they're tucking the gear away and climbing out... perfect timing on your part
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

izqomar, fantastic pictures. Looks like the proximity to the pattern for AF1 at MCO is much better than ours
