Tour NASA's 747SP-based Flying SOFIA Telescope on Saturday October 15th

NASA's SOFIA Telescope, a Boeing 747SP outfitted to spy on deep space from the upper atmosphere, will be open for free tours on Saturday, October 15th at NASA's Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, Calif.

Admission is free but tickets are required, see here: http://www.nasa.gov/centers/ames/events/2011/sofia.html

Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

Dang it, my one chance to go inside an SP and the thing has to be all the way out in CA. I was hoping to add another notch to the belt having been on a -100, a -200F, and a -400

it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
